Khaliyyat al-Nahl dough recipe

This is the dough that can be filled with various filling and baked in the oven to give delicious small pies, very unique in taste.

ingredients

3 cups flour
1/2 cup yogurt
1 teaspoon mahlab
1 tablespoon yeast
1/2 cup oil
2 cups warm water
pinch of salt
1 egg, whipped
2 teaspoons caraway, seeds, black known in Arabic as habbet el-barakeh

cooking method
 

1. Combine the flour, mahlab, yeast and salt together. Then add the yogurt and after that the oil and water gradually, while kneading well, until you get a firm and soft dough.

2. Cover the dough with a nylon bag and leave it in a warm place for 1 hour. It becomes ready when it doubles in size.

3. Divide the dough into balls the size of a walnut and press them against each other in a baking pan.

4. Coat the surface of the dough balls with eggs and sprinkle with caraway seeds.

you can fill the balls with cheese or thyme to taste and they will be very delicious.
